What does it feel like to get a new denture?

How to Care for Your New Dentures Daily denture maintenance and home care can help you get the most out of your new appliance. The better you care for your dentures, the longer they'll last. Here are some important guidelines to follow: Never sleep in your denture. Remove it each night. Soak your dentures in an approved denture solution as directed by our dentist. Every morning and evening, brush your dentures with a soft denture brush or toothbrush and lukewarm tap water. Never use hot water to clean your denture, as high temperatures could cause warping in the acrylic. Do not use bleach, abrasive pastes, or baking soda, as these can damage or scratch your dentures and cause them to harbor bacteria. Hold your denture over a towel when cleaning it. That way, if you accidentally drop it, it's less likely to break. Bring your denture with you to your regularly scheduled six-month checkups to have it evaluated. If your denture rubs or feels uncomfortable, contact our dentist. Occasional adjustments or denture relines are sometimes needed as your jaw shape is likely to change over time.
